About Takako Osawa
I am currently taking the graduate certificate in Contemporary Visual Art at the VCA at the University of Melbourne.
I was born in a small traditional rural village in Niigata in Japan and my art practice and life reflect the Japanese philosophy of living harmoniously with our human and non-human.
My mother sets a strong example of Eco-feminism which also influences my practices.
In the portraits of Extinct Australian Animals, I question current human oriented society values as well as respecting the lives of these wonderful animals which are no longer with us.
